TSV has been involved in the design, testing and certification of seats and seatbelts in a wide range of campervans and motorhomes ranging from 50 year old Bedfords to the latest A1 class Mercedes.
TSV has worked with the major NZ manufacturers of campervans CI Munro (Maui, Britz, United, Apollo) KMC (KEA Campers) and Traillite to produce safe forward and rearward facing 3 point seatbelts for all passengers. Whatever your motorhome, campervan or bus conversion, TSV can develop a suitable design for the practical installation of seatbelts for all passengers.
Seatbelt mounts have been developed in stand-alone seating / dining arrangements as well as outer anchorages built into wall sections. Even the totally wooden bodied Trail-Lite motorhomes are now able to be provided with lap belts or full lap/diagonal seatbelts attached to the chassis outriggers.
The conversion of Japanese imported buses to motorhomes has presented a number of challenges in terms of seatbelt installation. In conjunction with Auto Repair in Tauranga, TSV has developed, a range of standard window bars for the smaller Toyota, Nissan and Hino buses, and other designs to fit the larger 9 – 10 metre buses. TSV and Auto Repair have also designed and manufactured a swivel/slide base that will cater for all makes of Captains Chairs with built-in seatbelts and standard non stressed seats.
All seats and swivel bases have been full load tested to NZ standards and further checked with Finite Element analysis.
